Terms of service.

Who we are, and what Proof is
Proof is a software platform for photography studios and photographers — booking pages, client galleries, a client book, invoicing, scheduling, and a marketplace where clients find photographers and photographers rent studio space. Proof is operated by Steele Blue, a sole proprietor based in New Mexico, USA (“Proof”, “we”, “us”).
These terms are the agreement between you and Proof for using the service. By creating an account or using Proof, you agree to them. Questions: privacy@studioproof.co.
Your account
You must be at least 18 and running or joining a photography business to use Proof; it isn't directed at children. Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and know that you're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access.
Your work is yours
Everything you put into Proof stays yours — your photos, your galleries, your client list, your business. You keep all ownership and rights.
To run the service, you give Proof a limited license to store, process, and display your content only as needed to deliver it to the people you choose — showing a gallery to the client you shared it with, or your listing to the public if you opt in. We don't use your work for our own marketing without asking, and we never sell it.
You're responsible for having the rights to what you upload, and for the accuracy of what you publish — prices, hours, descriptions, and the like.
Bookings, sessions, and studio rentals
Proof helps a photographer or studio connect and schedule with their client, or with another photographer renting their space. The actual agreement for a shoot or a rental — the price, what's delivered, retainers, cancellation, and refunds — is between those parties, not with Proof.
When a retainer or cancellation policy applies, it's set by the photographer or studio and shown at the time of booking. Proof isn't a party to that agreement and isn't responsible for it, for the session or rental itself, or for any dispute between the parties — though we'll help with the tools where we can.
Payments
Payments run through Stripe. When you collect money from your clients through Proof, it goes to your own connected Stripe account — Proof doesn't hold, control, or take a cut of your client revenue. You're responsible for your own pricing, taxes, refunds, and any chargebacks with your clients, and for following Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.
A paid Proof subscription bills automatically and renews on its own at the end of each period — monthly or yearly, whichever you pick — at the then-current rate, until you cancel. Founding members keep their founding rate for as long as their subscription stays active. You can cancel anytime from your account: cancellation stops the next renewal, and your plan drops to the free tier at the end of the period you've already paid for.
Teams are billed a flat base fee plus a per-photographer seat charge; adding or removing a photographer changes your seat count and the change is prorated. On paid plans, storage kept above your plan's included amount is billed as metered overage at $0.06 per GB per month, added to your next invoice. We show the price before you're charged, and we tell account holders by email before any change to what a plan costs.
Platform subscription fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise — a cancelled period isn't prorated or refunded. This is separate from the money you collect from your own clients (covered above), which is always yours.
Fair use
Don't upload content you don't have rights to, anything unlawful, or anything that isn't part of running a photography business. Don't misuse the service, try to break its security, or harm other users. Storage limits are per plan — if you're bumping into them, talk to us and we'll size a plan to you rather than cut you off.
We can suspend or close an account that abuses the service or other people, and we'll tell you why when we do.
The marketplace
If you list on the Proof marketplace, you decide what to show and can turn your listing off at any time — turning it off leaves your own booking link working. We can remove or decline a listing that breaks these terms, and we don't guarantee any bookings, rentals, or results.
Your data, and your clients' data
How we handle personal information is in our Privacy Policy. For the client information you enter into Proof, you're the one in charge of it and Proof processes it on your behalf. If you need a data processing agreement for your own compliance, email privacy@studioproof.co and we'll provide one.
You can export your galleries at any time — full-resolution downloads are on every plan, including the free one. If you delete your account, we keep your galleries downloadable for 30 days first, then remove them from storage.
Availability and backups
We work hard to keep Proof running and your data backed up — originals live on enterprise object storage — but the service is provided “as is” and we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of irreplaceable originals, like every working photographer should.
Disclaimers and limits of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Proof is provided without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost data, or for disputes, sessions, rentals, or payments between you and your clients or other users. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to what you paid Proof for the service in the three months before the claim.
Your responsibility to us
You agree to cover Proof against claims that arise from your content, your use of the service, or your dealings with your clients or other users.
Ending your use
You can stop using Proof and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms. A few parts of these terms — ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, your responsibility to us, and governing law — keep applying after your account ends.
Changes, governing law, and contact
We may update these terms as Proof grows; when we do, the date below changes and we tell account holders about meaningful changes by email. Continuing to use Proof after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located there. Reach us any time at privacy@studioproof.co.
